Star Spangled Idol Auditions for Annual July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival

CONGRATULATIONS...
To Candice Chavez from Phoenix, AZ for being selected the 2012 Star Spangled Idol. Candice will be singing the National Anthem at the CBS 5 July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival produced by the Kiwanis Club of Tempe. Candice, born in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been singing for over 15 years and enjoyed whole heartedly every experience of her music ministry and plans to sing for as long as God allows.
Thank you to all of those participated. It was a tough decision — as we had many great contestants!
Our runner up is 14-year-old Keli Rutledge of Gilbert. She did a fantastic job as well!
With a range of one and a half octaves, the Star Spangled Banner is recognized as one of the hardest national anthems to sing. The Star Spangled Idol will have the honor of singing the anthem, for a live audience of as many as 35,000 people, and enjoy a prize package that includes VIP passes to the July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival.
